We had the most wonderful experience at Cicala Restaurant on Mother's Day. This was my first visit and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! The food was exquisite, the service was exceptionally friendly, and the background music completed a romantic ambiance. We had an assortment of the sea bass, Ravioli di castagne, roasted lamb rack, and an assortment of appetizers and desert. Everything was truly phenomenal. What truly stood out to us besides the food, was an incident where a server accidentally dropped a plate near our table. When the manager came by, Peter, he handled the situation remarkably. He responded with such grace and compassion towards the server, even assisted in cleaning up. In my experience, it's rare to witness such humility and genuine care, especially in the city nowadays. I know that Cicala is a family owned restaurant, and it truly shows. From the servers to the manager Peter, everyone made us feel like valued guests, like part of their extended family, something that has been truly missing in restaurants after covid’s “sit, eat, and leave” mentality. We greatly enjoyed our experience at Cicala and will definitely be returning here in the future!

My fiancee and I were searching for a small yet classy venue for our wedding when we stumbled upon this urban gem in Philly—Cicala. Instead of just trusting the glowing online reviews, we decided to make an impromptu visit... and WOW, are we glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Our greeter welcomed us by name and seated us in a cozy, romantic booth. Then came Christos—our waiter—who was not only warm and professional but incredibly knowledgeable about both the food and drinks. I’m a very picky eater (no pork, red meat, seafood, or veal), but Christos went above and beyond to modify a dish just for me. Meanwhile, my fiancee enjoyed a perfectly pan-seared fish. The food? Absolutely lived up to the hype (check out our pics!). But the real surprise? The gelato—hands down the best I’ve had outside of Italy. And I say that as a Philly native who’s never liked gelato in the States. To top it all off, the General Manager, Peter, personally came over to introduce himself and make sure we were comfortable. His hospitality sealed the deal. We’re not only planning to come back for our wedding, but Cicala has definitely earned us as regulars. Don’t miss this sure shot of a spot—it’s a whole vibe.

My wife and I chose Cicala for our anniversary celebration while in Philly. Wow! What a great decision. We were treated royally, we got a very warm welcome, a card waiting for us at the table, good wishes from everyone, a great meal and a complimentary beautiful dessert. The food was really, really good. We had shared an appetizer....meatballs. Delicious, light , flavourful. I had the grilled mackerel . It came with a beautiful arugula salsa. Simply amazing! All the food was well prepared and presented. The staff was great, warm, attentive, helpful. The group behind us had many concerns and the waiter was super helpful with all of them . We also met Peter, a very gracious man. First thing he did was to provide my pregnant wife a pillow for her back! We had never been treated with such a care and respect as family in any restaurant! Nothing was too much trouble for Peter, he genuinely enjoyed coming to our table and checking on us, telling us stories with a big smile in his face. Thank you for a memorable meal and overall a very pleasant evening. I won’t forget this anniversary!

Had an incredible experience dining at Cicala! From the service (manager Peter was exceptional; so knowledgeable, attentive, and a joy to chat with!) to the food and the overall atmosphere, this restaurant is top caliber. I enjoyed my time so much that we are hosting my daughter’s bridal shower there in June — thank you to Peter and owners Joe & Angela for the incredible dining experience!

Supper at this restaurant was exquisite. The restaurant is located in the historic Divine Lorraine building. The interior design is sophisticated and elegant, with chandeliers and antique decor throughout. The chairs are super comfortable and the premises were spotless. The high end service is professional and courteous. It was a lovely touch to have the table cloth delicately brushed in between courses. The food was superb quality. The portion size is just right and the flavour is outstanding. We shared appetizers and then had pasta as a main, followed by coffee and dessert. This is an upscale and elegant restaurant. The entire experience was enjoyable and memorable. I look forward to returning in the future.

Great ambiance. Was extremely happy with everything and glad we got to try some of the pizzas from next door as well from the chef. Pastas were on point and lamb was perfect. Didn't think we would have roomdelr dessert but was able to clear them with ease. The pistachio Gelato was divine.

Genuinely one of the nicest dining experiences I’ve had. Went for my sisters grad and we got everything from a handwritten card from the staff to a complimentary surprise dessert. Everything was so heartfelt and genuinely one of the nicest people and places I’ve been. 1000% recommend and will be back
